What is a personal emergency signal system (PNA)?

A PNA is a system for triggering and transmitting manual and automatic emergency signals, consisting of at least one personal emergency signal device (PNG) and a receiving unit.

When is a PNA legally required?

If a risk assessment according to § 5 ArbSchG shows that an activity is to be classified as dangerous solo work, the DGUV Regulation 112-139 requires appropriate technical or organizational monitoring measures – often in the form of a standard-compliant PNA.

Which companies are affected by the KRITIS umbrella law?

Operators in ten key sectors such as energy, water, healthcare, transport, and IT/telecommunications are affected. Many organizations are initially unaware of their KRITIS relevance due to size, supply function, or integration into supply chains.
